It may only be the first week of December, but I’ve already started gearing up for the holidays. Let’s be honest, I began preparing months ago. I’ve stocked up on wrapping paper, gift bags, greeting cards, and many more festive items. However, being a Graphic Designer, I always try adding my own personal touch to Christmas gifts. This year I created a few custom stickers with StickerApp to put on packages and greetings!
StickerApp is a user friendly website that allows you to design and upload your own custom stickers or labels. While there are many printing services available to the public, I was drawn to StickerApp because of the custom contour cuts and special materials they provide. With a few different sticker ideas in mind, I easily placed my (large) order and received all the stickers within one week!
There are so many aspects of this joyous season that I love and wrapping presents is one of them. While many people consider this a chore, I get overly excited about picking out wrapping paper and folding it to my standard of perfection. I even carefully choose name tag labels based on who will be receiving a gift (#designerproblems). It was a no brainer to design my own name tags this year that could be coordinated with the wide variety of wrapping paper I use. I chose a simple white background so the writing is legible, a faux-gold border, and one of my favorite script fonts. The custom die-cut also adds a bit more elegance; I couldn’t be happier with the outcome!
I additionally enjoy sending out greeting cards to loved ones I may not see during this time of year. The only downfall to doing this is licking about 20 envelopes to seal them shut. My solution was to create a 1×1 inch round sticker that not only seals the envelope, but also adds a tad more holiday cheer before the card is even read!
StickerApp is the perfect site for anyone who wants to add their own personal touch to gifts for the holidays. While I created name tags and envelope seals, I can easily see adding custom labels to home-made gifts to create packaging! Or maybe you could replace a candle’s sticker with a personalized one you’ve designed. The possibilities are endless and I couldn’t recommend the site enough.
