Last summer, I hired a personal trainer to help me get into better shape and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I was only expecting him to coach me through exercises but I got so much more out of the experience. I learned a great deal of useful information for anyone who is looking to become healthier whether it’s losing weight, toning up, or building muscle. I’m excited to share the 3 most important tips, that my personal trainer taught me, to remember when you’re working out.
Excessive cardio is absolutely NOT good for you, especially if your goal is to lose weight. When you are at the gym and only go on the treadmill, you will be burning lean muscle, not fat. Lean muscle is what makes you strong and in order to lose weight you need to build this up. Cardio is beneficial for your body in moderation, so mix it in with other weight training exercises.
When doing weight training, it’s extremely important to perfect your form and technique. I highly recommend hiring a trainer to teach you the correct way to do specific weight exercises to avoid getting hurt. If you have correct form and technique, you’ll get more out of your workout and build lean muscle much quicker. Next month I’ll be doing a series demonstrating the precise way to target specific areas of your body; make sure you are subscribed so you won’t miss it!
Everyone knows in order to be healthy, you need to eat healthy. Luckily your body will begin craving healthier foods once you being working out more. In order to repair your muscles and be less sore, you’ll need to eat more lean protein and drink more water. Also remember, if you are trying to bulk up, eat before a workout then wait half an hour before going to the gym. If you want to lose weight eat after your workout.
If you follow these three tips, you’ll start seeing results in as little as two weeks. I do not claim to be a health expert, but these are some of the most helpful tips my personal trainer taught me and I saw results fast. The biggest thing to remember is to stay focused and never give up!
