Winter doesn’t officially begin for another week, but I’ve certainly been preparing for it. Aside from holiday decorations, the winter jackets have been taken out of storage and my snow shovel is ready in case of a surprise storm. When I think of Winter, I think of delicious treats baking, hot cocoa ready to be sipped, fireplaces burning, and the crisp outdoor air. Luckily, I’ve found three candles that perfectly embody all the scents of this time of year that additionally create a comforting atmosphere.
When I’m trying to focus and get work done, I light a candle and let my creativity run wild. The following three scents are all available now at Bath & Body Works in large 3-wick candles. These 14.5 oz candles are made with vegetable wax and have a burn time of 25-45 hours. Without further ado, here are my top 3 Winter scents to lift your spirits!
The aroma of Marshmallow Fireside makes me think of a cozy night next to the fire while cookies are baking in the oven. It has strong notes of smoky wood with an underlying sweetness which creates the perfect winter fragrance in my book. If you don’t have a fireplace in your home, this is a great alternative to get that same scent throughout your space. On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d rate this fragrance a 10 with a throw of 8.
This scent was formally known as Red Velvet Cupcake from 2013, which was one of my all time favorites, and was re-released within the past week. I am SO excited that it’s back on the market. Red Velvet Cheer literally smells like a red velvet cupcake with the perfect balance of cocoa and vanilla. I actually love burning this simultaneously with Marshmallow Fireside to make my home smell like a bake shoppe. I’m rating the scent a 10 and the throw a 6.
I’m usually not a fan of outdoor or floral scents, but Winter is an exception. Do you know that crisp smell right before a snow storm? That’s exactly what this candle smells like. For those of you who live in a warmer climate and don’t know what I’m referring to, allow me to try and explain it. Strong notes of pine, a hint of citrus, and a light smokiness creates a beautiful scent that is reminiscent of a snow day. On cold sniff, this fragrance actually makes your nose feel a bit chilly! I’ll give this scent a 9 and the throw an 8.
Bath & Body Works has a reoccurring 2 for $24 candle deal that you can layer coupons on top of. As long as you wait for one of these sales to come along, you can usually buy these high quality candles for around $8.50 each. Additionally, the semi-annual sale starts on December 26th, so there will probably be more great deals announced at that time. While these are my top 3 scents of the season, I highly recommend checking out the rest of their Winter collection as well to find your perfect fragrance!

Winter might not be my favorite time of the year, but man I can’t get enough of those winter-ish scents.
I just wish they had the new sparkle lids in blue for some of the winter ones
The sparkle lids are very pretty, but I enjoy the embossed snowflakes just as much!
Yum!! Love these! xo

I’m not the biggest fan of Winter either but lighting a candle certainly adds to the warm, cozy atmosphere!
OMG! I loved this post so much! The photography, the scents, everything! So cute and informative
Thank you so much, Tina! 🙂
The seasonal candles are one of my favorite things about the holidays!
Definitely! I love candles all year long but always tend to burn more in Fall and Winter.
You can never have enough candles! My favorites are the spiced scents like gingerbread and apple cinnamon. Burning one right now, and oh so tempted to buy the ones you mentioned.
I am so addicted to warm apple candles, but tend to burn them in September and October. I actually don’t have a gingerbread scent in my collection, what’s your favorite brand?! 🙂
Red velvet sounds like the perfect sweet scent for the holidays.

Bummer, that sale is always the best! Maybe they’ll have a good deal on candles for their semi-annual sale that starts on the 26th! Fingers crossed 🙂
MIchelle,
You know Marshmallow fireside is my favorite scent of all time and I just bought red velvet last week. B&BW is such a guilty pleasure. Can’t wait for the annual after Christmas sale.
That Winter candle is the best! I love it!
