Thanksgiving is almost upon us and you can feel the excitement in the air. In anticipation, I’ve been reminiscing about my favorite part of this holiday. Each and every year I watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with my parents while the aroma of dinner wafts throughout the house. Then, without fail, my Dad and I sneak a flaky roll before dinner has even been served. It’s a simple tradition, but one that I couldn’t imagine my life without. Holiday entertainment and delicious meal aside, it’s important to recognize the heart of Thanksgiving; being thankful.
This holiday isn’t just about eating turkey, but rather being grateful you have food on your table. Even better, you get to share that food with loved ones. In celebration of the holiday, I’ve created a free printable to encourage writing out what you are thankful for this year. Either fill it out tomorrow morning with your immediate family, or pass the sheet around during dinner and have your guests express their gratitude too!
This year I have a long list of things that I am thankful for. To get the ball rolling and to inspire you to do the same, I’m sharing the top 10 things that I am grateful for!
- Being healthy & happy
- My family & friends good health
- Celebrating four years with Brian
- Having a loving & supportive family
- Being an auntie to my niece and nephew
- My family’s dog that loves unconditionally
- Having a job that I love
- Watching the sunrise every morning

Even if you’re family doesn’t normally tell each other what they’re thankful for, start the conversation yourself. It’s great to reflect with your loved ones and it can really help you form a bond. It may be strange at first, but you never know what you may learn about one another! I hope you all have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!
What are you thankful for this year? Share in the comments!
